Volunteer

Being a SAIL volunteer:

While SAIL is committed to educational support, it is not required for volunteers to have educational backgrounds or experience with children. SAIL always seeks a diverse range of volunteers and will attempt to support new volunteers with guidance, training and resources.

Instead, the best qualities for prospective volunteers are enthusiasm and consistency as well as a willingness to learn and improve their skills outside normal SAIL hours. Above all, a SAIL volunteer is not a casual position or an intermittent commitment; the educational support and programs that SAIL provides are dependent on consistent, dedicated volunteers who are willing to make their time at SAIL a priority on Saturday mornings.
If you would like more information about volunteering at SAIL, please refer to the Tutor page or our Frequently Asked Questions.
